Ammonium Bicarbonate

Ammonium Bicarbonate is an inorganic compound with the simplified formula NHCO₂, corresponding to the chemical formula HCO₃. It has many names that reflect its long history. Chemically, it is the bicarbonate salt of the ammonium ion. It is a colorless solid that readily decomposes into carbon dioxide, water, and ammonia.

Ammonium Bicarbonate is used in the food industry as a leavening agent for flat baked goods such as cookies and crackers.
